What to expect from the design process

1. Discovery & Project Briefing

Every project starts with understanding your vision. We begin with a questionnaire and an in-depth consultation to discuss your needs, style, and budget through a unique visual analysis. From there, we outline the project scope, ensuring we’re aligned before moving forward.

2. Space Planning
& Concept Development

We take precise site measurements and develop initial floorplans. Using inspiration imagery and our design expertise, we refine layouts, explore concepts, and create a foundation for your space.

3. Design Refinement
& Material Selections

With a clear direction in place, we develop detailed floorplans, furniture layouts, and material selections. We also introduce custom millwork, lighting plans, and preliminary pricing to ensure the design is both functional and cohesive.

5. Installation & Final Reveal

As your space comes to life, we oversee the final installation, ensuring every piece is placed to perfection. We conduct a final walk-through, create a punch list if needed, and provide care instructions so you can enjoy your new space with confidence.

4. Documentation
& Project Coordination

Once selections are finalized, we prepare construction drawings, order furniture and fixtures, and coordinate with contractors. Our team handles the details, from technical drawings to scheduling installations, keeping everything on track.

While some projects require a more extensive design process, we’re happy to discuss your goals and determine the best way to work together.

What role do clients play in the design process?

Collaboration is at the heart of our process. We begin by getting to know your vision, lifestyle, and preferences, ensuring that the design reflects your needs. Throughout the project, we present concepts, materials, and layouts for your input, guiding you through decisions without overwhelming you. While we manage the details—from sourcing to installation—your involvement helps shape the final outcome. Whether you prefer to be hands-on or take a step back, we tailor the experience to fit your comfort level while ensuring a beautifully executed result.

How long does the design process typically take?

The timeline for a project depends on its scope and complexity.

For a refresh (furnishings, décor, and minor updates): The design phase typically takes 6-14 weeks, depending on selections and approvals. Procurement and installation timelines vary based on product availability, shipping, and freight schedules, which can extend the overall timeline.

For a renovation or new construction: The design process can take several months to over a year, depending on the project’s complexity, architectural coordination, and contractor timelines. To ensure a smooth construction phase, we plan for all materials to be onsite before work begins, minimizing delays.

Regardless of the project type, we keep you informed at every stage, ensuring a smooth and well-managed process.

How are project budgets managed?

We take a proactive and transparent approach to budgeting. At the start of the project, we work closely with you to establish a realistic budget based on your goals, priorities, and the scope of work. Throughout the design process, we provide detailed estimates and offer value-driven solutions to ensure your investment is maximized. We also coordinate with contractors and vendors to keep costs aligned and minimize surprises. Our goal is to create a space that meets your vision while respecting your budget.

What is the cost of a consultation?

We offer two types of consultations, each designed to fit different needs:

Design Consultation (2-hour session): A working session where we provide expert guidance on your space. Whether you need help with layout, color selection, or design direction, we tailor the session to your specific needs. The fee for this service starts at $500.

Curated Consultation: If you’re looking for a structured design plan, this option provides a complete concept for a room, including furniture, materials, and styling recommendations. It’s perfect for DIY enthusiasts or those who love to shop but want a professionally designed look. This service is priced per room at $1,000.
